Final Thoughts on 2.0
I have to say I was quite nervous and intimidated when I began the 2.0 activities. With some help though I have completed it and learned more than I thought I would. Many activities I was able to complete on my own. These activities also introduced me to many websites I would otherwise never have gone to. I even learned about twittering before my kids! After completing 2.0 I have to say I even feel a little more confident on the computer. I am glad I am finished and feel good about what I have learned.
Craigslist
I love Craigslist. There are so many things available and such a variety that I think there is something of interest for everyone. I've been looking at vacation rentals in Washington DC. with the hope of getting down there this summer.

What's a Wiki?
I had no idea what a wiki was. I knew my son would use Wikipedia for school work, but thought it was an online encyclopedia and nothing else. I did not realize it was an encyclopedia that could be edited by anyone until this lesson.
I think the use of wikis can be of great value. The video made it very simple to understand that a wiki is really a change from a document to a web page allowing for easy editing . This is a great and effective process for collaborative group work. The use of wikis can benefit many organizations in sharing knowledge, keeping groups organized and tracking where everyone is in the process. I also come from a large family. Creating a wiki for family functions will be very practical. We are all using e-mail, but maybe I will introduce the use of the wiki for our next family gathering! Hopefully it will make it easier for us to pull our plans together as they did in the lesson video.

Finding New Feeds
I found finding new feeds to be quite easy. I had no preference to any of the search tools suggested in the lesson. I found each to be user friendly and I am amazed at the information available to you at any time. You can type in any topic and you are never disappointed by the information available to choose from. From factual information to personal points of view, it's all there.
Discovering Feeds on our Catalog and Website
I think offering RSS Feeds to our patrons on the Library Website is good customer service. Anything we can offer our patrons to make the library accessible to people who would rather use the internet is great as long as we always consider those who do not prefer technology. I think our priority as a library should always remain connected to the community by keeping the library in more of a personal touch.
I did find that subscribing to the library as an RSS Feed is convenient to keep up on what is new and being offered there. I found the links in the lesson were incorrect.

RSS Feeds
I think using the RSS Feeds are a great way to bookmark my favorite spots on the internet. I find it an easy and convenient way to keep my favorite places at my fingertips. Creating a Google Reader was not difficult and adding a feed seems to be easy. I added my favorite place on the internet which is the BBC News. I love being able to connect to it so fast.

SuffolkWave- Audiobooks
Searching for the audiobook "Three Cups of Tea" was the easy part of this exercise. I found it difficult to navigate through the steps to actually download it and burn it for use. It is much easier for me to get it from the library and I enjoy coming to the library to browse and be out and about rather than always be on the computer. Suffolkwave is a good tool for those who enjoy using the computer for all their needs and have limited time to get to the library.

Flickr
I think Flickr is great. I enjoyed browsing through many of the photos and think it is a great website to share photos with family and friends. When searching flickr for photos my daughter, Virginia Weyer, may have posted, I came across a photo of Weyer's Cave, Virginia and decided to put a link to it on my blog. It's fun to put names in randomly and see what comes up.
Youtube
I really enjoyed Youtube! I think that just about everyone could find something on Youtube to enjoy. I personally enjoy the music videos and decided to share one of my favorites.

LibraryThing
Listing books and navigating LibraryThing was easier than I thought it would be. I think this can be a great system for people to use who are avid readers. I particularly feel that it can be a nice social network for people who are home bound and love to read and book share.

Tagging and Delicious
I didn't care for the Tagging or the Delicious. I like Bookmarking my favorites for my own personal use and don"t see the point of sharing .
Myspace
I have never had experience using any social network. I found navigating through Facebook and Myspace to be much easier than I expected. I liked the layout of Myspace better than that of Facebook. The scrapbook effect made it more pleasant to skim through and gave it a more organized feel. I especially liked the Shelfari. The Shelfai display gave me more of a desire to investigate the books than the display of new books posted on Face book. I definately liked the layout of Myspace better. I don't care for social networking, but I can see how it can be appealing to a broad group of people.

I think I prefer Instant Messenger to Twittering. I can see how Twittering could be a useful tool to news reporting and businesses or personal use if you are a frequent computer user.

First Time Blogger
It took me some time, but I made it to this point. I have actually set up a blog. As I have said before, I am not the most computer savy person. I don't know if I am really going to enjoy blogging because I am more of a private person. I have never been on facebook and just learned how to instant message. I have to say though, that I enjoy learning how to do these tasks on the computer.
